Statistically, Chicago hosted 104 private companies in 2015 on the Inc. 5000. This was a tremendous growth given that in 2014, it attracted 95 companies. In addition, Raj’s hometown emerged second among the leading cities having fast growing businesses. Out of 104 companies in the town, 38 are information technology-related companies. Raj credits this success to the healthy and diverse ecosystem of companies that show support for each other irrespective of the size of their assets. He explains that larger businesses support smaller ones by investing in their creative thinking, agility and potential. Fernando pointed out that the pillar of Chicago’s great business landscape is the sheer diversity. The city has many differentiated businesses, which are clustered together, unlike other towns that cling on one line of business.
